The 2023 Kia Niro is a brand new generation of the electrified crossover that has been popular with eco-conscious buyers over the last few years. Here are some of the most notable features of this model.
A striking appearance
The 2023 Kia Niro is a very distinctive vehicle that isn’t likely to be lost in a sea of similarly-sized crossovers. This is due to many unusual design elements that give the Niro a style entirely of its own. For example, the new Niro can be ordered with a black-painted panel that links the rear of the roof to the rear wheel. This element also dictates the unique shape of the taillamps, which means that the Niro can be recognized easily even at night. Inside, the striking design continues with the application of the curved dual-display dashboard that has been added to a number of new or refreshed Kia models over the last year.
Three genres to please everyone
Every version of the 2023 Kia Niro is efficient and eco-friendly, but this doesn’t mean that they are all the same. Indeed, buyers have the choice between a regular hybrid version, a plug-in hybrid model and a fully electric Niro. Just like in the appearance department, the efficiency of these drivetrains has benefited from changes in 2023. These modifications allow the hybrid version to improve its fuel consumption figures while the plug-in hybrid model now has up to 53 kilometres of all-electric range, which is sufficient for most North-American buyers to complete their weekly commutes without burning a drop of fuel. The battery-electric version of the Niro also benefits from more electric range, with the total number jumping up to 407 kilometres.
The Kia Connect services
Like many other Kia vehicles, the 2023 Niro is available with a suite of connected services called Kia Connect. This technology makes it possible to gain information about the vehicle or to control some of its functions via a phone app. This is particularly useful in winter since the app can be used to preheat the cabin of the vehicle and defrost the windows at the touch of a button, before the driver ever has to step outside in the cold.
